Retreat in Finisterre at the End of the Camino de Santiago
The Way From the Head to the Heart
A Somatic Psychotherapy-Informed Retreat in Finisterre, Spain
There are moments when you don’t need more information you need space to feel again.
This retreat is an invitation to step out of daily momentum and return to a simpler rhythm: waking with the light, moving the body, breathing deeply, sitting in silence, sharing food, walking along the ocean and ending the day by the fire.
Set on the wild Atlantic coast of Galicia, this retreat combines psychological depth with embodied practice. Not as self-improvement, but as a gradual settling of the system — where clarity, ease and direction naturally reappear.
We call this movement: from the head to the heart.
The place
Finisterre lies on the Costa da Morte, cliffs, open horizon, salt air and long beaches.
The ocean is always present. Wind, waves and space create a natural quieting of the nervous system.
We walk along the coastline and the Camino de los Faros, practice near the water, and allow the environment to participate in the work. Here practice becomes simpler: breathing deepens without effort, attention stabilises more easily, and conversation becomes more honest.
The retreat includes shared meals, time outdoors, sunset moments and an evening fire ceremony — not as spectacle, but as a natural way of marking transition and connection.
The approach
This retreat integrates Western psychology with embodied and contemplative practices, inspired in part by the integrative approach of Himalayan Kriya Yoga (as taught by Anand Mehrotra).
Rather than pushing for breakthrough experiences, we work gently with the nervous system.
When tension releases and attention settles, many people notice more clarity, steadiness and a natural sense of lightness , sometimes described in yogic language as bliss.
Not something to chase. Something that appears when effort softens.

Closing
Sometimes clarity doesn’t come from thinking more,
but from breathing, walking, sitting by the ocean and allowing life to reorganise itself.
This retreat offers that space.
This retreat works at the level where change actually happens:
through breath, attention, movement and direct experience.
It is not a holiday and not a typical yoga retreat.
It is a psychologically informed, somatic retreat held in a small group on the Atlantic coast of Galicia.
The approach
We work gently but precisely with the nervous system and attention. Instead of trying to fix or improve yourself, the work allows unnecessary tension to release so behaviour reorganises naturally.
The name From the Head to the Heart refers to integration — insight becoming lived reality.
Practices
During the retreat we work with:
-
Himalayan Kriya Yoga journeys
-
Conscious connected breathwork
-
TRE® (Tension & Trauma Releasing Exercises)
-
Functional asana and regulation practices
-
Japa (mantra as attentional anchor)
-
Reflection and integration sessions
-
Gentle walking in nature
The aim is not intensity but coherence.
Setting
The retreat takes place in Finisterre (Fisterra), Galicia, at the Atlantic Ocean — a quiet environment that naturally supports slowing down and reorientation.
