Private Beach Yoga, Breathwork & Yoga for Surfers on the Costa da Morte

Move. Breathe. Reconnect.

Imagine starting your day with your feet in the sand, the Atlantic Ocean stretching out before you and the sound of the waves setting the rhythm for your breath.

Or picture yourself ending the day with a gentle yoga practice as the sun slowly disappears behind the horizon, leaving the sky painted in shades of orange, pink and gold.

This is more than a yoga class.

It’s an invitation to slow down, reconnect with yourself and experience the wild beauty of Galicia in a completely different way.

I offer private Beach Yoga, Breathwork Journeys and Yoga for Surfers in Nemiña, Fisterra (Finisterre) and throughout the Costa da Morte. Whether you’re travelling through Galicia, surfing the Atlantic coast, completing the Camino de Santiago or simply looking for a meaningful experience during your holiday, every session is designed to help you move better, breathe deeper and feel more at home in your body.

No previous yoga experience is needed.

Whether you’ve never stepped onto a yoga mat before or have been practising for years, every session is adapted to your body, your experience and your intentions.

Experience Beach Yoga on the Wild Coast of Galicia

There is something special about practising yoga outdoors.

The sea breeze naturally softens the breath.

The sound of the waves quiets the mind.

The warmth of the sun and the feeling of sand beneath your feet remind you to slow down and simply be present.

Beach Yoga offers an experience that is impossible to recreate inside a studio.

Nature becomes your teacher.

The ocean becomes your soundtrack.

Rather than focusing on perfect poses, we focus on creating space in the body, improving mobility, calming the nervous system and enjoying the present moment.

Every class is unique.

Some mornings begin with gentle movement as the beach slowly comes to life.

Some evenings end with deep relaxation while watching one of Fisterra’s unforgettable sunsets.

Each session is shaped by the weather, the ocean, the group and the energy of the day.

Beach Yoga in Nemiña

Nemiña is one of the most beautiful beaches on the Costa da Morte and a favourite destination for surfers, nature lovers and travellers looking for a quieter side of Galicia.

With its wide sandy beach, rolling waves and peaceful surroundings, it offers the perfect setting for yoga.

Private Beach Yoga sessions in Nemiña are available for:

  • Individuals
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Friends
  • Small groups
  • Surf camps
  • Retreats

Whether you’re staying in Nemiña, Muxía, Fisterra or elsewhere along the Costa da Morte, classes can be arranged at a time that suits your schedule.

Beach Yoga in Fisterra (Finisterre)

Fisterra, historically known as Finisterre, has long been considered “the end of the world.”

Today it welcomes travellers from all over the world who come to experience its dramatic cliffs, beautiful beaches and unique atmosphere.

Many pilgrims finish the Camino de Santiago in Fisterra, making it a place of reflection, celebration and new beginnings.

Beach Yoga in Fisterra offers a beautiful way to pause after your journey.

Whether you’ve spent days surfing, hiking or walking the Camino, yoga helps your body recover while allowing you to fully appreciate this extraordinary landscape.

If weather conditions don’t allow us to practise outdoors, sessions take place in my cosy yoga studio in Fisterra.

Why Practise Yoga on the Beach?

Practising yoga outdoors offers benefits that go far beyond physical exercise.

Many people notice they naturally breathe more deeply when surrounded by fresh ocean air.

The sound of the waves helps calm the nervous system.

Being barefoot on the sand creates a feeling of grounding and connection with nature.

Beach Yoga may help you:

  • Improve flexibility and mobility
  • Increase balance and body awareness
  • Reduce stress and mental tension
  • Improve breathing patterns
  • Prepare your body for surfing
  • Recover after physical activity
  • Feel calmer and more present
  • Connect with the natural beauty of Galicia

Above all, Beach Yoga is about enjoying the moment.

There is nothing to achieve.

Nothing to prove.

Just an opportunity to breathe, move and reconnect.

Why Choose a Private Yoga Session?

Private classes allow the practice to be completely tailored to your needs.

Unlike a large group class, every session is designed around you.

Perhaps you’d like a gentle morning practice before surfing.

Maybe your shoulders feel tight after several days in the water.

Or perhaps you’re looking for a deeply relaxing experience after finishing the Camino de Santiago.

Whatever your reason for joining, each session is personalised to help you get the most from your time in Galicia.

Yoga for Surfers in Galicia

Surfing and yoga are a natural combination.

Whether you’re surfing the waves of Nemiña, Rostro, Laxe, Pantín or another beach along the Galician coast, your body works hard every time you paddle out.

Strong shoulders.

Mobile hips.

A stable core.

Good balance.

Steady breathing.

The ability to stay calm under pressure.

These are all qualities that both surfing and yoga develop.

Many surfers join a yoga session before entering the water to improve mobility, activate the body and increase body awareness.

Others prefer to practise afterwards to stretch tight muscles, improve recovery and reduce stiffness after a long session in the ocean.

Every surfer is different.

Every body is different.

That’s why every class is adapted to your experience, your body and the conditions of the day.

Whether you’ve never surfed before or you’ve spent years chasing waves around the world, yoga can help you move more efficiently, recover more comfortably and enjoy your time in the ocean even more.

Breathwork Journey

Sometimes the ocean offers perfect waves.

Sometimes it offers something completely different.

On days when the sea is calm—or whenever you simply feel called to slow down—you are warmly invited to join one of my Breathwork Journeys.

Inspired by the traditional yoga practices of the Himalayas, these 90-minute sessions combine conscious breathing, gentle movement, meditation and deep relaxation into one immersive experience.

Rather than focusing on achieving something, we create space.

Space to breathe.

Space to feel.

Space to simply be present.

Many people arrive feeling tired, busy or mentally overloaded.

Many leave feeling lighter.

Clearer.

More grounded.

And deeply relaxed.

Working consciously with the breath can influence the nervous system in remarkable ways.

Many participants experience:

  • Deep relaxation
  • Greater mental clarity
  • Increased energy
  • Emotional balance
  • Improved concentration
  • A stronger connection with themselves
  • A renewed sense of vitality

Some Breathwork Journeys are peaceful and deeply restorative.

Others are energising, playful and uplifting.

Every journey is unique.

No previous experience is necessary.

Simply bring your curiosity.

Yoga for Camino de Santiago Pilgrims

Many pilgrims continue their Camino beyond Santiago to Fisterra (Finisterre), where the journey traditionally comes to an end beside the Atlantic Ocean.

After walking hundreds of kilometres, the body often needs care.

The hips feel tight.

The shoulders are tired.

The feet have carried you across mountains, forests and villages.

A private yoga session offers the perfect opportunity to slow down, recover and reflect on everything your journey has brought you.

Some pilgrims choose a gentle stretching session.

Others enjoy a deeply relaxing Breathwork Journey to integrate their Camino experience.

Many tell me that finishing their pilgrimage with yoga beside the Atlantic Ocean becomes one of their most meaningful memories of Galicia.

More Than Just Yoga

For me, yoga has never been about becoming better at yoga.

It isn’t about touching your toes.

Or standing on your head.

It’s about learning to listen.

To your body.

To your breath.

To the present moment.

Sometimes the practice is dynamic.

Sometimes it’s quiet.

Sometimes we move.

Sometimes we simply sit together listening to the sound of the waves.

The practice always meets you where you are.

My classes combine traditional yoga with breathing techniques, mindfulness, relaxation and gentle movement to create an experience that supports both body and mind.

Whether you’re joining for physical recovery, stress reduction, curiosity or simply because you love being outdoors, you’re welcome exactly as you are.

Why Breath and Movement Matter

Modern life often encourages us to move quickly, breathe shallowly and spend much of our day disconnected from our bodies.

Yoga invites us to slow down.

Breathwork reminds us that the way we breathe influences how we feel.

When we begin moving and breathing with awareness, something changes.

The body softens.

The mind becomes quieter.

The nervous system settles.

We become more present.

This is why every session includes conscious breathing—not as an extra exercise, but as an essential part of the experience.

Whether we’re practising Beach Yoga, Yoga for Surfers or a Breathwork Journey, the breath is always our guide.

Yoga in Nature

Although I also teach in my peaceful studio in Fisterra, whenever the weather allows I choose to practise outdoors.

Nature has an incredible way of supporting the practice.

The changing tides.

The sound of seabirds.

The salty breeze.

The warmth of the sun.

The colours of sunset over the Atlantic.

These become part of the class.

Many visitors tell me they had planned to “just do a yoga class.”

Instead, they leave feeling as though they experienced something much deeper.

Not because the movements were complicated.

But because they finally gave themselves permission to slow down.

Meet Your Teacher

Hi, I’m Susan.

I’m a psychologist, yoga teacher and breathwork facilitator, and I believe some of life’s most meaningful moments happen when we slow down enough to truly experience them.

For more than a decade I’ve explored the connection between movement, breath, mindfulness and psychology, always with one intention: helping people feel more connected to themselves.

My journey has taken me around the world, from yoga studios in Europe to extended periods of study in India, where I immersed myself in the traditional practices of Himalayan Yoga.

Over the years I’ve completed more than 1,200 hours of Yoga Alliance-accredited yoga teacher training, including Hatha Yoga, Ashtanga Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, Yin Yoga, Trauma-Sensitive Yoga and traditional Himalayan Yoga.

Alongside my yoga education, my professional background as a psychologist has deepened my understanding of how the body, breath and mind influence one another.

I’ve also trained extensively in mindfulness meditation, somatic approaches, breathwork and healing practices, allowing me to combine ancient wisdom with modern psychological understanding.

Rather than teaching one fixed style of yoga, I bring together the practices that best support the people in front of me.

Every class is unique.

Every body is different.

Every day brings something new.

Whether we’re practising on the beach in Nemiña, in my studio in Fisterra or during a retreat, my intention is always the same:

To create a welcoming space where you can move, breathe, relax and simply enjoy being present.

Why Choose Private Yoga?

One of the biggest advantages of private yoga is that everything revolves around you.

Instead of adapting yourself to a large group, the practice is adapted to your body, your goals and your experience.

Private sessions are ideal if you would like to:

  • Prepare for a surf lesson.
  • Recover after surfing.
  • Improve flexibility and mobility.
  • Learn yoga at your own pace.
  • Reduce stress and tension.
  • Experience breathwork for the first time.
  • Celebrate a special occasion with friends or family.
  • Enjoy a unique wellness experience during your holiday in Galicia.

Whether you’re travelling alone, with your partner, your family or a group of friends, every class is personalised.

Yoga for Couples, Families & Small Groups

Yoga is often even more enjoyable when shared.

Private classes are available for:

  • Couples
  • Families
  • Friends
  • Small groups
  • Surf camps
  • Corporate retreats
  • Wellness retreats
  • Camino groups

Many visitors choose a private class as a memorable experience during their holiday.

Some celebrate birthdays.

Some practise together after completing the Camino de Santiago.

Others simply want to spend quality time together in nature.

Every session is adapted to the group and can be as relaxing or as active as you’d like.

Retreats & Collaborations

In addition to private sessions, I also collaborate with surf camps, retreat centres, hotels and wellness organisations throughout Galicia.

Whether you’re organising:

  • A surf retreat
  • A yoga retreat
  • A wellness weekend
  • A corporate retreat
  • A Camino experience

I’d be happy to create a programme that fits your guests and your vision.

Sessions can include:
